Students will learn how to divide mixed numbers. We start by converting both dividend and divisor to improper fractions. Then we change the division problem into a multiplication problem. Next we multiply. Then we simplify. The final step is to convert our result to a mixed number. Before this lesson, students should be really good at converting between mixed numbers and improper fractions. Students should also be really good at multiplying fractions.
