Next, students will learn how to solve problems involving the area and perimeter of rectangles on the coordinate plane. One type of problem, is to determine the area of a rectangle from its coordinates. Another type of problem, is to find two adjacent vertices of a rectangle, given the other two vertices and the area of the rectangle.

After that, students will learn how to find a side length of a rectangle, given the coordinates of two adjacent vertices. Students will also learn how to determine the fourth point of a rectangle or parallelogram given the other three.
