# Uses of place value disks

Note that everything that can be done with the Montessori stamp game can also be done with place value disks. However, the Montessori stamp game features square tiles, which are easier to arrange in a rectangular array. Thus, any activity which calls for making a rectangular array is best done using the Montessori stamp game. However, the Montessori stamp game only features whole numbers, while place value disks often feature decimals as well. Thus, place value disks can be used for more activities than the Montessori stamp game.
