It can be difficult to see why the powers of eleven appear in Pascal's triangle, and so an explanation will be provided. You'll also see the hockey stick theorem, although a proof will not be given. Then you'll see Sierpinski's triangle, and Fermat primes, by looking at Pascal's triangle modulo two. Before attempting this section, you should know how to expand powers of binomials.
