This involves multiplying or dividing the numerator and denominator of one of the fractions by some integer constant. For example, to solve \(4/7 = n/28,\) we can multiply the numerator and denominator of \(4/7\) by \(4.\) This gives us \(16/28,\) from which it's clear that \(n = 16.\) To solve \(3/n = 6/14,\) we can divide the numerator and denominator of \(6/14\) by \(2.\) This gives us \(3/7,\) from which it's clear that \(n = 7.\)
