Students will learn how to derive point-slope form (video). They'll also learn that point-slope form cannot describe vertical lines. Next, students will learn how to find the \(x\) and \(y\)-intercepts of lines in point-slope form. To find the \(x\)-intercept, they'll set \(y\) equal to \(0,\) then solve for \(x.\) Similarly, to find the \(y\)-intercept, they'll set \(x\) equal to \(0,\) then solve for \(y.\) Finally, students will learn how to convert between point-slope form and slope-intercept form.
