Students will learn how to convert rates. First, students will solve problems where one part of the rate stays the same. For example, mph and kilometers per hour are both some unit of measure per hour. Here's an example problem: If a car is travelling 65 mph, how fast is it going in kilometers per hour? Next, students will solve problems where both parts of the rate change. For example, if a car is travelling at 50mph, how fast is it going in feet per second?
