In this section, you will learn what the one-to-one property of exponents is, and how to use it to solve exponential equations. You'll start with easy problems, where the bases are equivalent. Then you'll move on to problems where making the bases equal will require finding the square root, cube root, or prime factorization of at least one integer. Once the bases are equal, you'll apply the one-to-one property, then solve the resulting linear equation. Before attempting this section, you should be able to recognize square roots and cube roots of small numbers. You should also be excellent at factoring integers and solving multi-step equations.
