    Understanding zero

First, students will learn how to write the numeral zero, and the word zero. Then students will learn how to answer how many questions, involving zero of something, with respect to some container. For example, how many eggs are in the carton? or how many cups are on the table? After that, students will learn how to answer how many questions with zero, where no container is involved. For example, how many pigs can fly? or how many dogs can speak English?
